Chapter One.

When he rang the doorbell, Ravin was sure she was going to explode. She could barely get herself to stand up and walk towards the door. Her heart was in her throat, her mind in the stomach. Her body obviously wasn't ready for anything like this.

She slowly managed to open the door. Her eyes couldn't even stand the sight and quickly retreated to her lungs. She couldn't see or breath properly and Ravin was sure was about to die. (But that would be all right. Who could complain after just seeing the man of their dreams?)

"Hi," he said. She could tell he was struggling with his English. She knew Kyu Hyun's vocals like the back of her hand and she knew that his English was one of the worst in the group. She also knew her Korean wasn't that good so she didn't want to tell him to speak in Korean.

"Hey," she said back in English, even though she could have at least said that in Korean. She felt so stupid. Why hadn't she worked harder on her Korean when she had the chance?

Right as he was about to say something else, Ravin's pocket began vibrating, causing her to jump up with surprise. She reached into her pocket and got out her phone. She clicked on the text message and read:

"There are five ways I can give you that will for sure impress any Korean male, promise. The first is easy. Kimchi. You just have to like it. It's a very, very acquired taste, but you just have to force yourself to like it. Eat and eat and eat it until you can't eat anything but it. One day you'll wake up to find that all you want to eat her fermented cabbage."

Ravin's eyes slowly rose to the skeptical Kyu Hyun. She still didn't know why he was there, but she could tell that he was slightly regretting the situation. She couldn't blame him. If the roles were reversed, she probably would have run away. But they weren't and she was no way she was going to let him leave.

"Come in," she said. They walked in, him slightly behind her. She motioned for him to sit down and said she'd be just one moment. She ran into her kitchen and looked through her fridge, even though she knew she didn't have any Kimchi. She quickly sent a text to Nicola telling her to bring some over - and fast.

She walked back into the living room and sat down on the couch, far enough from Kyu Hyun that shouldn't bother him, but close enough that she was able to enjoy it. She watched him and she could tell that he was trying to find the words to say. She wanted to pretend that it was something romantic - like when the boy was trying to find just the right way to tell the girl he loved her. She liked that much more than him just not having good English.

The door bell rang about three minutes later. Ravin was glad Nicola lived so close and that she always had Kimchi at her house. She opened the door, grabbed the Kimchi, and slammed it in her face. She didn't want to be mean, but there was no way she was going to let Nicola make the whole ordeal any more awkward for Kyu. She would make it up to her later. When her and Kyu Hyun got married, she'd set her up with Lee Teuk.

She went a grabbed a pair of chop sticks and brought the Kimchi over to the couch and sat just a bit closer to Kyu Hyun than before. She cautiously grabbed a piece and moved it towards her mouth. Her lips were barely open, knowing that her stomach (and her mind that was still there) wasn't going to like this at all.

But she shoved the food in her mouth and did all she could to stop herself from gagging. "So good!" she exclaimed, the food stuck in her throat. It tasted terrible and she couldn't understand why anyone would want to eat it. But she ate more and more anyway, her eyes constantly locked on Kyu Hyun.

He had a strange look on his face and Ravin wasn't sure if this was working at all. She was shoving the most disgusting thing down her throat and he better appreciate that. After another bite, she asked, "Would you like some?"

Kyu Hyun, with a confused and worried look on his face, reached out and took the bowl from her. He began eating it as well, but his face soon was filled with smiles (as apposed to the terrible look gagging was putting on Ravin's face). It was terrible and hot and she needed to get all of the food out of her system.

Ravin excused herself and went to the kitchen to drink something. She drank the biggest glass of water she had and went back into the living room. Kyu Hyun had finished the Kimchi (thank goodness) and was smiling like a mad man. She loved the look on his face. She walked slowly to sit down. She didn't want to disturb him and his smiles. It was unfair how pretty he was in person. She knew that a good percentage of photos Korean pop stars were modified by photoshop, but he still looked wonderful.

She sat down and put a smile of her own on her face. Kyu Hyun looked over and said, "You like Kimchi?" with a small pause between each word. Even his specking voice was sweet in her ears (although she was tempted to ask him to sing everything from now on).

"It's so good," she said, trying to make sure her lie wasn't apparent. She didn't have time to wait for her to start liking the food. It was now or never.

"Most American girls not like it," he said once again. "Girls" sounded terrible, along with "like", but Ravin understood and nodded.

"I like a lot of Asian food," she told him, which was true. She liked rice and sushi and orange chicken! She loved Korean BBQs and lettuce wraps. Kimchi just made her was roll up and die. But no one needed to know that.

And Kyu Hyun went back to trying to find the words to say. He looked so cute as he tried to concentrate. Ravin really was starting to wonder why he was there, but she wasn't going to ask. She wanted to keep him as long as she could. She knew that it wasn't like he was really going to fall in love with her (was weird, not delusional) but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy the time he was there.

But, at the very least, it seemed like the first step had worked out. She pulled out her phone and sent a text to Nicola. "Sorry about being mean, but the first way worked out! I mean, I don't like it, but he thinks I do. So what's next, oh wise Nicola?"

She closed her phone and looked over at Kyu Hyun again. He looked up over at her and smiled. Although he had been smiling most of the time he was there, Ravin was never, ever going to get sick of it.
